Lockdown Modes

Operate your own personal lockdown mode to keep yourself safe and allow you to heal during troubling times.

Why might you want to operate a lockdown mode?

Life can be full of all sorts of things, not all of which are good. When you face a troubling time, regardless of what that may be, you can enter one of the lockdown modes mentioned on this page until you feel ready to resume normality again, and other people around you must respect this and not penalise you for being in a lockdown mode.

It is up to you whether you justify to anyone why you are in a lockdown mode, and should you choose to keep the reasons to yourself, others must respect this and do what they can to support you as you deem appropriate. All they really need to know is you have entered the lockdown mode on health grounds.

While in your chosen lockdown mode, it is advised that you only focus on things that make you feel positive about life and those around you, and do as little as possible that brings out the more negative side. What you actually do is entirely up to you.

Regular Lockdown Mode

Designed to give you a break during stressful times, regular lockdown mode means you can only leave your home or have visitors at your home for essential reasons.

Family members and relatives who do not live with you are exempt from this restriction and may visit you during your period of lockdown, as long as they are supportive of your lockdown decision, and leave you alone when you ask them to.

What is classed as “essential”?

Enhanced Lockdown Mode

Designed for tougher times where you really need to put life on pause to protect your health, enhanced lockdown mode means you can only leave your home or have visitors at your home for emergency reasons.

Family members and relatives who do not live with you are exempt from this restriction and may visit you during your period of lockdown, as long as they are supportive of your lockdown decision, and leave you alone when you ask them to.

What is classed as an “emergency”?

Should you break the law, this lockdown mode cannot prevent law enforcers from taking you away, however, it is advised that they should respect the fact you are in enhanced lockdown mode before they made the decision to take you away, and as an alternative, they could keep you under supervision at your home until you leave enhanced lockdown mode. You must not attempt to enter enhanced lockdown mode to escape law enforcement.

Additionally

Gaining employment or continuing employment is only permitted if employer is supportive of your lockdown decision and understands that you may not be able to perform in that job until you decide to leave lockdown and resume normal life again. It is strongly advised that you should continue to get paid for anything you would normally be paid for outside of lockdown as normal, regardless of whether your chosen lockdown mode permits you to meet any required criteria. Should your decision to enter lockdown result in you losing money, that financial source is to be regarded as unsupportive of your health.

Ultimately, as entering or leaving any lockdown mode is a decision to help you deal with life events that otherwise could result in poor health, the decision should remain entirely your own. No one else has the right to penalise you for looking after your own health, nor does anyone have the power to control or influence your decision, you must enter and leave when it suits you and your health.
